Benefits
The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCCEDP) makes it easy to get the breast and cervical cancer screenings doctors recommend. The screenings are free if program eligibility requirements are met.
Eligibility
Women ages 50 through 64
Women who do not have health insurance, which will cover the cost of a mammogram, clinical breast exam, pelvic exam/Pap test
Women who are not covered by Medicaid or Medicare
Women who meet the income guidelines of the program (at or below 200% of the federal poverty level)
Women who are Florida residents and reside in one of the following counties: Clay, Duval, Baker, Nassau, or St. Johns
Women older than 40, but younger than 50, with a personal history of breast or invasive cervical cancer may be enrolled and screened through the program if they also meet income and insurance requirements
Services
Clinical breast exam by a qualified clinician
Mammogram at one of the several facilities
Pelvic exam and Pap smear test (if cervix is present)
Assistance with various follow-up diagnostic tests if the physician recommends them and grant funding is available; or assistance in locating a facility that will provide the tests at a reduced cost if testing must be obtained outside the program
Free care coordination if screening or diagnostic testing is abnormal
Medicaid for cancer treatment if screened and diagnosed through FBCCEDP with breast or cervical cancer and qualifies for Medicaid
